In Praška Street, in the center of Zagreb, step by step, barefoot, I measure out cadastral parcel number 2427. The parking barrier and the deluxe bodywork of the vehicles make a mockery of forgetfulness and the Zagreb people who long ago built a synagogue on this site, loved their city and yet vanished from it. Is there any nobility and dignity for them? For 1498 square meters?
The performance was carried out on June 4, 2022, at 7 Praška Street, Zagreb, where the Zagreb synagogue once stood. It was torn down on orders of the Ustasha regime in early 1941.
